We are delighted to say Brighter has attained the ISO 20121 certification for Sustainable Meetings and Events!
Following a successful audit in January and February, Brighter has attained the ISO 20121 certification for Sustainable Meetings and Events.
All members of the events team have undergone ‘sustainable events training’, increased regulatory compliance and better risk management.
Marketing collateral has also been updated to include green symbols and compliance logos which are familiar to clients.
Roles and responsibilities for staff, as well as contractors and suppliers, have been redefined to align with this standard, which will further strengthen event planning capabilities for the future.
Brighter event managers are charged with consistently looking to counter any negative impacts from events on the environment, plus improved reporting on sustainability outcomes helps support customer goals too.
Paul Casement, Brighter’s Executive Director of Groups, Meetings and Events, said:
“We are seeing more and more of our clients wanting to really integrate sustainability into events. Tender processes increasingly want evidence of sustainability practices too. With this sustainability certification, clients old and new wanting to work with a responsible supplier can be confident that Brighter has the right skills and experience to deliver the event they desire. A lot of work has gone into achieving this standard but this is just the beginning. I’m proud of our team which really buys into our mission to produce unforgettable – and sustainable – events.”
Julie Evans, Standards and Assurance Manager at parent company Clarity, said:
“It has been an amazing team effort to achieve this international standard. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the Brighter events team throughout this certification process. It’s been great to be able to use my events, ISO and sustainability experience to help achieve this important certification and support customers’ environmental targets and goals. The work towards this standard has influenced Brighter’s mindset to delivering even more memorable events which maximise performance and energy efficiency, while also minimising the impact on our environment and local communities.”
Brighter now incorporates ISO 20121 into Clarity’s existing Integrated Management System for 9001, 14001, 27001, 22301 and 50001, all of which demonstrates a commitment to quality, environmental management, energy management, information security management and business continuity.
