Rolls-Royce were planning their University Research Directors’ Seminar for 150 attendees including business leaders, engineers, world class academics, students and government agencies, as well as special guests.

During the course of the day, they wanted to include various workshops, a conference at their Learning and Development Centre – to include a facilities tour - and then the showpiece gala dinner.

With an event of this size, we take a hands-on approach to make sure everything from registration platform to table plans and rooming lists are complete.

We provided comprehensive delegate management by creating a branded registration site with information on the conference and sections to register for the event.

Then, throughout the conference, we utilised Slido to create polls for delegate engagement and instant interaction with the speakers.

We arranged to use the internal Learning and Development Centre located at Rolls-Royce Derby for the clients’ seminar.

After a busy day we wanted to provide delegates with a perfect place to unwind and sourced the Derby Conference Centre for the gala dinner which featured guest speaker, Professor Charlotte Deane MBE.

With all the planning done and everything in place, our team remained on-site to make sure everything went ahead without a hitch.

Professor Mark Jefferies, Chief of University Partnerships & Policy, had high praise for the team:

"I wanted to directly pass on to you how grateful I was for the work Emma Matthews and Louise Gray did. In my humble view, they were both outstanding. Thank you for developing such a good team. I look forward to working with them again on future events."

After some fantastic and challenging debate throughout the conference and a spectacular gala dinner, we can safely say this event was a success.

Our on-site team provided the reassurance to our client throughout that we’d ensure their event would be one to remember and the feedback we have had is that it was.

Some further feedback from Dr Sophoclis Patsias, University Liaison Manager, shows the dedication our team have when organising events:

"Huge thanks to Emma Matthews and Louise Gray, they have done an excellent job and kept delivering to our constantly changing demands during the event. They went way beyond what was expected of them. I couldn’t stop them working! I am looking forward working with them on our next events we have planned."
