It’s been a busy start to the year for the team as we’ve co-ordinated a whole host of events for our client, the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) throughout January, February and March – 10 to be precise!
NIHR hold a mixture of in-person, hybrid and virtual events around the UK, for up to 1,000 delegates, each focussing on improving the health and wealth of the nation through research.
January saw the first Academy Student Engagement Event take place at Trent Conference Centre in Nottingham, an in-person event for 150 delegates for students interested in a career in health and social care research.
The NIHR Making Connections event followed in February, a national event in Birmingham for young people involved in research, alongside the National RDN Agile Research Delivery Team virtual event which had an audience of 350.
At the beginning of March we completed the second Academy Student Engagement Event at the DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands Riverside, again attracting more than 150 attendees eager to learn about a career in research.
The following week we conducted a virtual event for 1,000 delegates focussing on sex and gender in research, closely followed by an in-person Academic Career Development Forum at Woburn House in London before another virtual event, this time for Clinician Researcher Credentials for over 1,000 attendees.
The following week it was an in-person Reproductive Health and Childbirth Symposium at Kings House in Manchester for 100 people before we rounded off the month with a virtual ‘Deep End – Primary Care’ event for 300 delegates.
And that’s not all – with a number of events planned for the rest of the year starting with the final Academy Student Engagement Event next month, the team is busy planning to successfully deliver the full 2025 events programme.
Following the student engagement event, Humaira Abbas said of the Brighter team: “Perfect, nothing was too much trouble, everything we needed was there and you were one step ahead.”
And after the RH&C event in Manchester, NIHR’s Jennifer Syson said: “The event went so well and you had, as always, thought of everything.
“You are always a please to work with and can’t thank you enough for having everything under control – you always have the answer to the questions before we ask them and are always calm in the storm. We really appreciate you and the huge amount of work it takes to pull off the event.”
Joanna Lake, Operations Manager for Manchester, said: “It’s always great to start a new year and get straight back into the swing of things.
“Our team works hard to deliver a wide range of events for our clients and it’s incredibly rewarding to see everything come together after all the effort. We really value the work that NIHR does, so it’s a pleasure for us to be part of their journey.”
