Our Brighter events team were busy making an Impact at Clarity’s annual conference and awards last weekend at Emirates Old Trafford.
With more than 650 people heading to the venue from all over the country we helped plan an action-packed day which brought together staff from across the business, as well as 40 suppliers from the travel industry.
Travel was arranged, accommodation was booked and we co-ordinated delegate registration as well as producing an app to keep all our delegates updated throughout the day.
Emirates Old Trafford has been the venue for a few years now – on the day we co-ordinated everything from the boardroom, which included us conducting full, technical rehearsals.
The set up of the main hall was a huge undertaking where we worked alongside our production and AV experts to build the stage, with huge LCD screens throughout The Point venue space.
This area was the main space which hosted the welcome, business updates and presentations in the afternoon before the evening dinner and awards ceremony took place.
We also co-ordinated the supplier exhibitions and break-out room activities which included interactive quizzes, games and a drumming workshop which took place in The Pavilion’s Members' Suite, 1864 Suite, The Emirates Lounge and Club Suite.
A faith room was planned into our event strategy and we also kitted out a quiet room for delegates as everyone’s welfare is one of our top priorities at any event we organise.
The sourcing of keynote speaker, Lizzie Daly, fitted perfectly into our Impact theme of the day with her photography and wildlife exploits around the world – aided by our business co-ordinating her travel around the world.
With Brighter event crew on site from before 7am in the morning there was to be no respite as they were on hand to help co-ordinate the evening entertainment too.
Finalising the table plan and menu dietary requirements, while sorting and distributing nearly 2,000 drinks vouchers kept the team busy before they welcomed all delegates back to the Mezzanine in The Point for a sponsored drinks reception, followed by dinner.
With a fire show at the entrance, edible mist orbs, a photo booth, mirror men and branded Impact cocktails, followed by spectacular drummers and a walking band kept all delegates entertained as we wanted to deliver another memorable event for them.
Any event would be happy to have TV magician Ben Hamlin and the UK’s number one event band Rick Parfitt Jnr and his RPJ Band on their line-up – this year was to be no different as we were able to secure their services once again.
They both perfectly complemented the awards part of the evening which were presented between the courses of the meal with our photographer on hand to capture all the special moments of the day.
Paul Casement, Brighter’s Executive Director of Groups, Meetings and Events said:
“The Clarity staff conference has to be our favourite event of the year. A lot of planning goes into it but it is worth it as we get the chance to show our colleagues across the business how we can put on a real show. The team are relentless. The effort they put in before the event is phenomenal, while the event itself can be gruelling. One of the team managed 30,800 steps on the Saturday – they are first on-site every day and last off the site too. But when we see everyone enjoying themselves and we get great feedback it makes our efforts worthwhile and we’re already planning for 2026!”
And, just like that, it was all over.
While delegates headed off to the hotel bar, the team were already starting to pack up so the next event could roll into Emirates Old Trafford.
Another unforgettable experience, this time for our people. No drama.
