An event to remember for our clients

We certainly had an event to remember – as did our client and their delegates – when we headed to Wales for an exhilarating team away day.

An accountancy firm client tasked us with delivering a two-day event for around 120 people, which included an activity, and which had good transport links to the location.

Our event experts put their thinking caps on and soon formulated a plan.

With a list of possibilities given to the clients, the Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia was picked out as the hotel venue where 45 twin rooms and 30 singles were needed.

Apart from a few public guests, the team and our client had taken over the whole hotel which gave it that extra personal touch to be able to move freely throughout the event space, bar and restaurant. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and made sure all our plans were in place for the clients arriving the next day.

For an exhilarating activity, a trip to the nearby Zip World was was chosen for the delegates, which for many, is considered to be the highlight of the event.

Our team worked closely with our counterparts at Zip World to book in all attendees with what they wanted to do whether it be the Velocity ride, Aero Explorer, Quarry Karts or Quarry Tour. For more information on Zip World, check out our experience blog here.

And for those who didn’t fancy that, or for those with a medical condition, we were just as happy ensuring they would enjoy themselves with access to the hotel spa where they could relax with a treatment if they so wished. We take great pride in ensuring everyone is looked after!

Booked for a Wednesday to Thursday last month, the first day consisted of a group lunch at the Zephyr's bar & restaurant when everyone arrived, followed by a conference, then dinner with a night of entertainment.

Day two was then planned around the activity before arranging a lunch before everyone’s departure.

Special Projects Project Manager, Chloe Barlow, said rail arrangements were made for all attendees before booking coaches to and from the hotel, and Zip World, before ensuring everyone returned home safely.

But she said it’s the little things that really make our Brightest in the business stand out from the rest.

Specials cocktails and mocktails were served up for pre-dinner drinks using gin from the local distillery – and the drinks even featured their company colours.

And local talent was a recurring theme with a band from the area wowing the crowd after dinner before a karaoke machine whirred into action– we couldn’t control the quality of this part of the event, however!

Plus the morning after we organised ‘rescue packs’ for those with sore heads. Whether that was down to the drinks, or the karaoke, we’re not sure but it included a drink, crisps, mints and an eye mask!

But an event is not an event without the team having to think on its feet.

On the Thursday morning when we are all getting excited to visit Zip World, we found out that return London trains were cancelled due to bad weather. We had 40 people booked on these trains from Wales to London, now with no way of getting home.

This is when the hard work and dedication to making sure all our clients experience a first class service kicks in!

Chloe said:

“Like the problem solvers we are, when our London group train was cancelled going home, we contacted multiple coach companies and managed to source a coach within three hours to take them back home and made sure there was food and drink to keep everyone going on their journey!”

So we’d say it was another successful event ticked off the list by the Brighter team – and we’re sure the client enjoyed it too.
